MALL FLOOD: Three Businesses Recover

Despite the lack of precipitation, three Altoona businesses are recovering from flood damage.

Frozen pipes in the sprinkler system cracked in January at the Copper Creek Plaza. A false fire alarm a few days later triggered the still broken water pipes to engage.

Okoboji Grill reopened February 12th and Eastern Buffet Chinese restaurant managed to get back in business 4 days later.

Salon Trendz expects to back in its old location March 4th having temporarily relocating. Manager Wendi Blanker told the Des Moines Register, “We lost some of our walk-in business because people didn’t see we had moved.”
