Salvation Army officials say they’re half-way to their fundraising goal.

The Red Kettle campaign supplies most of the funding for year-round programs at the Salvation Army.

In Des Moines, $580,000 has been collected towards the $1.2-million goal.

Salvation Army officials say they’re ahead of last year’s pace with donations historically picking up closer to Christmas.  

The Story County Salvation Army is 81% of the way to its goal.

In Boone County, leaders say they’re about 68% of the way there.
