REGION MEETING: Proposed State Crime Victim’s Service Changes
Wednesday night, Central Iowans will got to weigh in on proposed changes to state crime victim’s service programs.
The plan divides Iowa in six regions, with each region having its own program.
Experts say rural areas will likely suffer the most in the proposal.
State officials say the changes are due to years of federal and state budget cuts. In the last three years, most than $1.6 million has been cut.
A meeting was held Wednesday in Ames at Mary Greeley Medical Center at 6:00. There’s another meeting in Des Moines on the 29th.
